I recently had the honor of visiting the Lammas Earth Center in Wales/England. Tao, the founder, was expecting a small group for the open day, which takes place every Saturday and always on a different property. Today, as already mentioned, Tao was our guide and it was simply uniquely brilliant.
First of all, he explained to us the OPD (One Planet Development) system, which enables people to build their own sustainable and ecological paradise on agricultural land in Wales.
Of course, you have to meet a few conditions, but the fact that the government allows people to do this and you are completely free to do what you want is simply brilliant.
He showed us around, showed us his various gardens, his greenhouse, his pond and other buildings. He explained a lot about the trees and which ones they have planted.
He imparted great and important knowledge in a short space of time. Halfway through the tour, his wife took over the reins of the tour and showed us not only her home, the house, but also the magnificent composting toilet with a unique functioning system that means it doesn’t smell at all. I will certainly do the same for our country estate.
She also showed us various water treatment systems and other wonderful things on her site.
There are about 20 other wonderful paradises around her that work and each place is unique.
We are deeply ❤️ grateful to have had these great experiences.
Unfortunately, a Swedish TV team was there who wanted to film a documentary about this wonderful and successful project, so we unfortunately didn’t manage to get a photo together.
